Dr. Imad Ghannoum Visits ICGER: A Meeting with Dr. Youssef and a Thought-Provoking Exchange
On Monday, April 8, 2024, Dr. Imad Ghannoum, lecturer at the Lebanese University, visited ICGER, where he met with the Center’s president, Dr. Mohammad Walid Youssef, and was introduced to the Center’s departments and team.
The visit featured an engaging discussion between Dr. Youssef and Dr. Ghannoum on a range of political, intellectual, and historical topics of mutual interest, rooted in the goals and methodological approach of the Center and its leadership.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Youssef presented Dr. Ghannoum with a collection of his 2022 publications titled “Toward the Rationalization of History,” in addition to his book “Ash‘arism, Society, and the State.”
Dr. Ghannoum is a Lebanese academic and university lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Department of Arabic Language and Literature, at the Lebanese University. He has participated in several international conferences in Lebanon, the Arab world, and France, and has authored a number of peer-reviewed studies published in Arabic and international journals and articles in local and regional newspapers.
