Zelensky Faces the Truth: The West Fears a Russian and a Ukrainian Defeat Simultaneously

Ukrainian President Zelensky conceded that the West does not want to see a swift Ukrainian victory against Russia. He added that the Kharkiv offensive precedes a more comprehensive Russian attack. “We are in a nonsense situation where the West is afraid that Russia will lose the war.
And it does not want Ukraine to lose it,” Zelensky said in an interview with France Press. “As he anticipates a widening Russian offensive, Zelensky acknowledged issues with staffing and “morale” within Ukraine’s often outgunned and outmanned ranks,” the France Press article added.i
Three months prior, Dr. Youssef, President of ICGER, made this assessment in two studies. The first was published on November 13, 2023, A Nuclear Offensive as Russia’s Last Resort – Part II and Russia, Europe, and the Coming Nuclear War, published on March 25, 2024.
In the first study, Dr. Yousef argued that “It is common knowledge that if the West were to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles and cutting-edge aircraft like F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22, and F-35, along with sophisticated air defense systems such as Patriot, THAAD, and AEGIS, Ukraine could push the Russian army back to Moscow and deep into Russian territories.”
He added “However, the West remains frugal in supplying Ukraine with short-range weapons, aiming to avoid a quick Ukrainian triumph. The strategic intent is to achieve a prolonged attrition of Russian military, financial, and human resources on the Ukrainian front, thereby incapacitating Russia for an extended period to block its efforts to rebuild its military strength.”
In March 2024, Dr. Yousef stated that “President Putin will declare a comprehensive attack on several fronts [including] Kharkiv Axis: To seize the largest city in northeastern Ukraine, which is strategically difficult for the Ukrainian army to defend due to its proximity to the Russian border. Controlling Kharkiv opens the way for advancing towards the capital, Kyiv, and besieging it from the east.”
