French Judge Guillaume-Hofnung Returns to ICGER: “I Have Been an Ambassador for Dr. Youssef’s Thought in Paris”

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Dr. Mohammad Walid Youssef, President of the ICGER, welcomed French judge Michèle Guillaume-Hofnung, President of the IMGH Mediation, Paris, and member of France’s National High Committee for Mediation and Conflict Resolution at the Ministry of Justice. The meeting was attended by international attorney Dr. Marilyn Karam, Professor Bassam Lahoud, President of the International Catholic Union of the Press, along with the Center’s department heads and staff.

This marks Judge Guillaume-Hofnung’s third visit to ICGER. She emphasized that the foundation of her visit was the deep trust she has developed in Dr. Youssef’s political methodology, having been introduced to it through several prior engagements. She affirmed, “Throughout my time in France, I was an ambassador for Dr. Youssef’s thought in Paris.”

Judge Guillaume-Hofnung expressed her personal interest in Dr. Youssef’s project, noting that she had held several meetings in France to brief relevant authorities on his global political approach, hoping to initiate practical steps toward its implementation.

She also outlined to Dr. Youssef key meetings scheduled for his upcoming visit to France with the ICGER team and potential French partners interested in collaborating on the project. Among them is the French organization Cercle K2, whose president, General Jean-Pierre Meyer, had visited ICGER earlier this year.

Judge Guillaume-Hofnung noted that General Meyer thanked her after his visit to the Center and his introduction to Dr. Youssef’s methodology, and has expressed full readiness to explore the foundation of this major initiative.

She also praised Dr. Marilyn Karam’s efforts in facilitating the introduction to ICGER, describing her as “a treasure for Lebanon.” Following the meeting, Dr. Youssef and the ICGER team hosted the French delegation for a luncheon, followed by an open discussion session.
