The U.S. Provided Ukraine with Long-Range ATACMS Missiles

On April 24, 2024, Politico revealed that the Biden administration secretly transferred tactical ATACMS missiles. “In March, the U.S. quietly approved the transfer of a number of Army Tactical Missile Systems with a range of nearly 200 miles, said a senior Biden administration official and two U.S. officials, allowing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s forces to put at risk more Russian targets inside Ukrainian sovereign territory. […] The administration will include additional long-range ATACMS in a new $1 billion package of military aid President Joe Biden approved on Wednesday, one of the U.S. officials said.” The U.S. quietly sent the medium-range version of the missile in October, but Ukraine continued to press for a weapon that would allow it to strike farther behind Russia’s lines.i

In “Russia, Europe, and the Coming Nuclear War,” published on March 25, 2024, Dr. Yousef had predicted that Russia is preparing a comprehensive offensive against Ukraine in Spring/Summer, and that “The West will work to contain the comprehensive traditional Russian ground assault, thwart the preceding aerial campaign, absorb the assault, diminish its intensity, and tame its ferocity. This is aimed at halting the Russian assault in its initial phase, then pushing Ukraine to launch a comprehensive counterattack on specific axes along the front lines. This would occur after supplying the Ukrainian army with F-16 aircraft and medium-range German Taurus and American ATACMS missiles to strike Russian rear supply lines, depriving their forces of ammunition, supplies, fuel, and equipment.”
