Cooperation and Mutual Admiration: "ICGER" Receives French Delegation

A French delegation that included the head of the Cercle K2 organization, French General Jean-Pierre Meyer, and the Honorable Michèle Guillaume-Hofnung, president of the International Mediation and Arbitration Organization (IMGH) – Paris and member of the Supreme National Committee for Mediation and Conflict Resolution in the French Ministry of Justice, visited The International Center for Geopolitical and Economic Studies Reseach – ICGER in Downtown Beirut on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

The delegation met with Dr. Muhammad Walid Youssef, head of the center, in the presence of the center’s officer of diplomatic relations, Professor Bassam Lahoud, Dr. Marilyn Karam, a number of academics, and the center’s research and writing team.

The meeting discussed the expected cooperation between the Center and French organizations on strategies that can serve the fight against terrorism in the world today in practical ways, rationalizing political science, and communicating this center’s approach to the Western world.

The delegation expressed its admiration for the new political thought presented by Dr. Youssef and the research published by the Center’s Geopolitical Department researchers and found them promising for fruitful practical cooperation in the future.

The French delegation also greatly appreciated the center’s media department by browsing the website, social media sites, and marketing methods.

Lunch was served, followed by an open discussion session.

It is important to note that General Jean-Pierre Mayer is a member of the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon or INSA Lyon, a former auditor at the Centre des hautes études militaires (CHEM) and the Institut des hautes études de Défense nationale (IHEDN), and an instructor at the Center for Advanced Military Studies for Crisis Management, Joint Defense College on Negotiations, (IHEDN Youth), and at the Center for European Security (CNPP) on criminal risk forecasting.
